<p>A payment protection is considered to be mis sold when the insurance holder was made to believe that it is compulsory to have an insurance policy. You have to compulsorily buy a mortgage protection policy along with your mortgage loan. It is also considered mis-sold when you are made to believe that if you don&#8217;t buy this insurance policy, your loan will not be approved.</p>
<p>This policy is not supposed to be sold to a self employed person. If he has been told to purchase then this is covered under the mis sold insurance category. As it protects an employed person and pays him mortgage payment compensation when he is out of job due to redundancy, sickness or accident.</p>

These indexes are often the only way that we can tell how our portfolios of financial securities are doing. There are literally hundreds of indexes in the US and foreign stock and bond markets but only a handful are watched daily and carry broad weight. We are going to take a look at the most important ones here, what they represent and how to use them.
<p>The most important stock index in the world by far is the <b>Dow Jones Industrial Average</b> or the Dow for short. This is usually the synonym for the broad market and the first place a majority of people look to see how the markets are doing. The Dow index is the weighted average of the 30 largest public companies stock prices at any given time. These stocks are what we usually refer to as Blue Chip stocks and they trade on the New York Stock Exchange or NYSE. Even though it is the most popular, it really does not represent the entire market and should therefore not really be relied upon as the true gage for US stocks.
<p>The next most important index is the Standard &#038; Poors 500, or <b>S&#038;P 500</b>, which is a market value weighted index, and it tracks 500 of the largest companies by market value that are traded on the New York Stock Exchange and this is a much better gage for the stock market as a whole. It is the one that is followed and quoted the most by professionals and the one that is used as a measuring stick for mutual funds and managed accounts.
<p>The <b>NASDAQ</b> is a relative new market that stands for the National Association of Security Dealers Automated Quote system and this index is similar to the other indexes in how it is constructed however, unlike the others, it is made up of stocks that trade only on the NASDAQ system. NASDAQ has two indexes-the NASDAQ Composite which is the more frequently quoted one and the NASDAQ 100 which tracks the 100 largest companies in NASDAQ.
<p>The <b>Nikkei</b> is to Japan what the Dow is to the US. As this implies, it is an index of Japanese stocks.
